What Is It About?
In our outpatient chemotherapy department, 10 treatment chairs (see image) and a competent team of experienced specialists are available. The necessary medications are prepared shortly before administration at a specialized pharmacy in Mannheim and delivered to our practice.
Therapies from Home
Many therapies with tablets can also be carried out at home. The consultation and education for this takes place, just as before chemotherapy, in our consultation rooms. The treatment recommendations are aligned with the guidelines of the Working Group for Gynecological Oncology (AGO), but are individually decided in coordination with our patients and their relatives.
Supportive Medications
During chemotherapy, medications to combat and suppress possible side effects are also administered in accordance with the AGO guidelines (supportive therapy). This also applies to pain management. When needed, we work together with colleagues who have specialized expertise (pain therapists). Should a brief hospital stay be necessary due to significant side effects, we arrange admission and accommodation. For this purpose, we are available to our patients by phone around the clock.
