As a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, I bring sound experience from my work at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University Medical Centre Mannheim (UMM).

Specialised Dysplasia Consultation

My clinical focus is the assessment and management of cell changes (dysplasia) of the cervix, vagina and vulva. For this specialised diagnostic field I hold the colposcopy diploma of the Working Group for Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (AG-CPC) of the German Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG). This additional qualification requires structured training in basic and advanced courses as well as a theoretical and practical examination.

My dysplasia consultation offers:

• Clarification of abnormal screening results, such as an abnormal Pap smear or a positive HPV test
• Differential colposcopy: examination of the cervix, vagina and vulva under high magnification with a colposcope
• Targeted tissue sampling (biopsy) for histological confirmation of the findings
• Classification of precancerous lesions, e.g. cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), and individual planning of follow-up examinations or further treatment
• Advice on HPV infection and HPV vaccination

An abnormal result is unsettling for many women. However, most cell changes can be treated well or regress on their own. It is important to me to explain the findings to you clearly and to decide on the next steps together with you: carefully, in line with current guidelines and with the time you need.
