PRAEGNANT at Brustkrebs-Studien.de
Study Objective
One of the main objectives of the PRAEGNANT study is the establishment of an infrastructure for the comprehensive analysis of molecular characteristics of tumor, metastasis, and patient.
Furthermore, the assessment of the influence of care-related factors as well as health economics represent new approaches for the integration of patients into study conduct and for care awareness, and are additional objectives of the PRAEGNANT study.
Further Information
Within the patient population with breast carcinoma, the subpopulation of patients with metastases is considered the one with the poorest prognosis. Not only with regard to treatment decisions, but also concerning quality-assured care and pharmacoeconomics, this patient group presents a challenge.
Currently, advances in breast carcinoma therapy aim at targeted treatment of tumor entities, as well as the identification of those patients for whom the greatest benefit in combination with the fewest side effects can be expected.
